TIGP Director's Welcome Letter
Dear Friends,
Academia Sinica has been at the forefront of academic research into the physical, life, and social sciences as well as mathematics and the humanities for almost a century. As a center for academic excellence, Academia Sinica was quick to embrace the challenges of the new millennium, and in 2001, the former President of Academia Sinica, Nobel Laureate Yuan T. Lee met with members of the Academy and its esteemed researchers to plan the best strategy for engaging and mastering the research concerns of a new century. Their first priority was to ensure Academia Sinica could continue to attract the best and the brightest academic talent at home and abroad. To this end, TIGP was established in 2002, and presently offers international candidates Ph.D. degree granting programs in a wide variety of areas.
Academia Sinica's Ph.D. programs provide superior scientific training coupled with cutting-edge facilities and leading technologies to ensure its Ph.D. candidates are well supported both academically and socially. All Ph.D. programs are conducted in English so that candidates can be fully engaged in the learning and discovery process. Further, the program works very closely with Taiwan’s leading universities to make certain candidates have access to the best minds in their chosen field. Importantly, TIGP offers affordable rates on Ph.D. level programs with the potential to qualify for scholarships.
Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) now offers Ph.D. programs in Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics, Molecular Science and Technology, Molecular and Biological Agriculture Sciences, Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioinformatics, Nano Science and Technology, Molecular Medicine, Earth System Science, Biodiversity, Interdisciplinary Neuroscience, Sustainable Chemical Science and Technology, Social Network and Human-Centered Computing, and Artificial Intelligence of Things.
TIGP will be accepting applications from November to February annually. We offer an excellent opportunity for those wishing to do advanced research in a mature, highly regarded, international academic setting. We look forward to seeing you on campus.
Sincerely,
Mei-Yin Chou, Ph.D.
