|
Academia Sinica offers an exciting intellectual environment with world-class faculty and state-of-the-art research facilities. But we also recognize that engaging classroom discussions, conferences and other scholarly and practical components are just as vital to a rigorous, inter-disciplinary education.
While making the most of our home campus, Academia Sinica, TIGP also works closely with several top universities in Taiwan in order to provide first-rate teaching and academic support. Beyond coursework and research experience, TIGP students will enjoy opportunities to participate in seminars, to teach, travel, and engage with the greater scientific and public communities.

|
In addition to the general and program-spcific requirements for coursework and research, TIGP encourages its students to take advantage of opportunities for teaching, travel, networking and other enrichment activities. These may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Seminars
Students are invited to nominate scholars from a variety of disciplines to give presentations on their research and personal experiences. - Travel
The Student Conference Travel Grant was established to provide opportunities to attend international research conferences and meetings. TIGP students are strongly encouraged to broaden their learning experiences through participation in these events, and to meet and learn from netowrks of experts worldwide. - Research Abroad
With connections to numerous research institutions overseas, Academia Sinica opens the door for students who seek engaging research experiences abroad. - Teaching
Students will acquire first-hand teaching experience by assisting in classes and/or workshops. In this way, they will gain valuable practical experience and refine presentation skills. - Special Events
Two new items on the agenda include the establishment of an awards program to recognize student achievement and the organization of scientific career fairs to aid students in their transitions to professional life.
With a community reflecting more than 20 nationalities, and all courses and seminars conducted in English, students will find that the learning environment at TIGP is truly an international one.
TIGP Student Conference Travel Grant
The Student Conference Travel Grant exists expressly to assist students traveling abroad to attend academic conferences. Expenses related to airfare, conference registration fees, lodging and travel insurance may be reimbursed from grant funding; the grant cannot be applied towards travel for classes, workshops, summer schools or research.
Generally, each student may receive only one such grant in the course of his/her study in TIGP, but exceptions may be made for additional awards in cases of applicants with outstanding evaluation results. Please read the relevant guidelines and forms for more information.
